Plaq. woman injured in one-car accident

A 20-year-old Plaquemine woman suffered severe head injuries in a one-car accident on St. Louis Road at 7:19 p.m. Monday, but her properly secured 11-month-old child was uninjured, Maj. Johnny Blanchard of the Iberville Sheriff's Office reported.

The victim, Randi Michelli, who lives on St. Louis Road, was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge for treatment, he said.

St. Louis Road runs from the back of Plaquemine High School and the old Riverwest Medical Center to La. 1, Blanchard said.
