Water boil emergency for north Iberville Parish

Tuesday morning the Iberville Parish Water District No. 4 announced, until further notice that customers living in the northern reaches of the parish are as to boil water before use.

Communities affected as of Tuesday morning were Grosse Tete, Ramah, Bayou Blue, and portions of Rosedale.

Multiple leaks in the main line caused water service to go out in those areas. Crews were at work in an effort to resolve the issue and the time of restoration of service was unavailable when this notice was sent to the newspaper Tuesday morning.

Residents were asked to boil water vigorously for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth.
