Deidre Cruse, Government Reporter
Two days after his indictment on federal bribery and fraud charges, White Castle Police Chief Mario Brown left for a national conference in Baltimore at taxpayers' expense, WBRZ reported Monday.
The station said it obtained documents showing Brown submitted expense sheets totaling more than $1,000 for registration, food and airfare to attend the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives Conference, also known as NOBLE.
“Documents News 2 obtained show Brown typically spends about $5,000 per year of town money traveling” the station reported. “So far, he has spent nearly $4,000 this year on travel expenses.”
Brown is scheduled to return to Louisiana Thursday night.
