Contractor to work on Old Turnerville streets next week

Staff reports

A Plaquemine city contractor is scheduled to upgrade water and sewer lines on Joseph, Guy and Trosclair streets in Old Turnerville starting Monday, Mayor Mark A. “Tony” Gulotta announced.

The city is relocating and repairing utility lines before overlaying city streets.

Work is began Friday (July 23) on a new natural gas line on Kearney Street. Crews were scheduled to start upgrading home connections on Mille and Regina Streets on Thursday (July 23).

The repairs and the overlays will be a long-term process, the mayor said, asking the public's “patience and cooperation.”
