Local music group, the Simms Sons, will be featured Thursday, on Channel 33, WVLA-TV as part of a preseason special prior to the season opener for the New Orleans Saints.

Chuck and Percy Simms wrote and recorded the “Saints Ain’t The Aints Anymore” after the New Orleans football team claimed the 44th Super Bowl championship to cap last year’s NFL season.

The Baton Rouge NBC affiliate conducted an interview and produced a video the duo as they sung their Saints song as part of the preseason showcase next week.

The Saints open their regular pro football slate following the Channel 33 special. They are slated to host the Minnesota Vikings at 7 p.m. next Thursday evening to kick off the regular NFL season. It will be a rematch of the National Football Conference (NFC) championship game of a year ago.

Meanwhile, the Simms Sons have been getting tremendous airtime on Donaldsonville’s KKAY radio, 1590 A.M. recently for their Saints’ victory song.
