Library offers free computer, business training

The Iberville Parish Library is offering a series of free technology classes designed to help residents improve their proficiency in both the business world and their personal lives.

These training classes will also show you how to create technology-ready 21st Century houses.

Through the State Library of Louisiana, the Iberville Parish Library is providing these free classes to Louisiana residents through Louisiana Libraries: Connecting People to Their Potential project, funded through a recently awarded $8.8M BroadbandUSA grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

In addition to free classes in leading business software, such as Microsoft Office, the soft skills training includes computer topics such as computer foundations, Windows 7, home computer security, and both introductory and advanced home wireless setup.

Job search training includes how to get started, mastering the interview, and resume building. Basic business classes include etiquette, conquering a fear of public speaking, customer service and “train the trainer” instruction.

Registration can be completed online at www.lajacc.org  or by calling 1-888-487-2700.  Residents can register for classes here or in other parishes
