Three arrested in in bad check case

Three men accused of cashing more than $4,000 worth of fraudulent payroll checks at a local convenience store were arrested Friday on charges of monetary instrument abuse and felony theft, Plaquemine Police Capt. Kenneth Payne reported.

James Dwight Nunn, 33, of 4274 Hebert Lane, Fordoche, was booked on eight counts each of monetary instrument abuse and principal to felony theft in connection with checks totaling $2,456, Payne said, while James Dwight Nunn, 33, of 12945 La. 411, Maringouin, and Javon Quincy, 21, of 363 Valveda Road, Maringouin, were both arrested on a count each of instrument abuse and felony theft.

The checks Nunn and Quincy cashed were valued at $814 and $844, the captain alleged.
