Lottery to Determine Fate of Seven Hundred Students

Iberville Mathematics, Science and Arts Academy application process has ended and more than 700 students have applied and are currently awaiting their fate. 

Students whose applications have been approved will be selected from a random, public lottery drawing at the Optional Education Center located on Plaquemine Street Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. 

MSA West and MSA East will offer programs to grades K-12 in the upcoming school year. The schools’ courses include honors and advanced placement and also dual credit offerings for 11th and 12th grade students. Many innovative offerings are in partnership with university

Programs. This past year MSA student scores were comparable with charter schools, university sponsored schools, and magnet schools in the area, according to the local school’s administration.
