Wintry weather forces school closures in Iberville

Public and parochial schools in Iberville Parish will be closed Thursday due to the freezing rain predicted for overnight across south Louisiana.

Thursday classes in West Baton Rouge Parish schools were also cancelled.

State offices in Iberville Parish, East and West Baton Rouge parishes and  surrounding areas will also be closed Thursday.

The closures come as freezing precipitation was expected to begin falling late Wednesday night, and continuing into the mid-morning hours Thursday.
