Police break up fight at Mardi Gras parade

As the Plaquemine Mardi Gras parade ended Saturday afternoon, the Plaquemine Police broke up a fistfight between men, but made no arrests, Capt. Steve Bezet reported.

One man apparently jumped down from a float and exchanged blows with another man.

“Officers directing traffic saw the fight break out, went to break up the fight and sent them on their way,” he said.

It was a brief blip in an otherwise peaceful event.
