OBITUARIES
Betty Banks Dillon Johnson was born April 8, 1947 in Plaquemine. She was called home to be with the Lord Monday, March 14 at her home in Plaquemine after a brief illness.
She was a faithful attendee of the Bethany World Prayer Center West under the leadership of Pastor Darrayl Jack and Mount Zion Baptist Church II Inner City pastored by Rev. Ricardo Handy. Betty attended Iberville High School in Plaquemine. She was a talented seamstress and decorator who occasionally worked for Andre’s Bridal and was often sought out by others in the community for her excellent work. Betty also worked at Myles & Myles Law Offices for many years.
Left to cherish her memory are two sisters: Carol (Joseph) Thomas, Plaquemine, and Sandra Snell, Baton Rouge; four brothers: James (Cynthia) Banks, Chino Hills, Ca.; Harold Banks and Freddie Banks, Plaquemine; and Michael (Carmen) Banks, Palatine, Il; sister-in-law Jacqueline Banks, Baton Rouge, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband Allen Dillon and second husband Curtis Johnson; parents Welton Banks and Loretha Jones Banks; three brothers: Welton Banks, Jr., John “Peter” Banks, Dennis Jones; maternal grandparents Johnny and Idella Jones; paternal grandparents Edward and Martha Banks; several aunts, uncles and relatives.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany World Prayer Center, West in Plaquemine this Saturday (March 19) at 10:00 a.m.
