Plaquemine woman dies in single car accident
A Plaquemine woman died in a one-car crash of La. 1148 just before 4:30 a.m. Friday morning (March 25), Louisiana State Police Troop A reported.
Ashley Gueho, 21, was driving a Suzuki pickup east on the highway when she entered a right-hand curve, but continued straight. The pickup crossed the westbound lane, entered the ditch along the north edge of the roadway, and then struck several small trees before striking a large tree and coming to rest.
Not wearing a seat belt Gueho sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The Iberville Parish Coroner pronounced Gueho dead at the scene, the State Police said.
Alcohol is not suspected to have played a factor in the crash. However, troopers have submitted a sample of Gueho’s blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.
