Man charged in gun incident
Iberville Sheriff's deputies on Sunday arrested a Plaquemine man on three weapons charges after a shots-fired call near Bayou Grosse Tete and Bayou Fabricators, Chief of Operations Aubrey St. Angelo reported.
John Robert Boudreaux, 20, of 58140 Labauve Avenue, was charged with illegal use of weapons, principal to illegal use of weapons and as a felon in possession of a firearm, St. Angelo said.
Residents of the area complained to the sheriff's office that they were having to seek shelter because of bullets coming in their direction, and identified Boudreaux and a second man as the suspects, the chief said.
The two men had fled the scene in a speedboat by the time deputies arrived, but were subsequently located on Sawmill Road, St. Angelo said.
In action last week, deputies arrested Benny J. Carrigone, 58, of 20185 Daniel Lane, Plaquemine, on charges of second degree battery and domestic abuse battery after an incident at the home he shared with a woman, the official said.
He said Carrigone is accused of hurling a picture frame at the woman, lacerating her left eye and a knee. The woman was treated for her injuries and released from Baton Rouge General Mid-City.
