City sets April meeting for Wednesday
DEIDRE CRUSE
The Plaquemine Board of Selectmen's regular meeting and its committee meeting, set for April 12 and 26, were cancelled, and a special meeting called for Wednesday, April 20, at City Hall.
The meeting will open at 6:15 p.m. with a public hearing on a recodification of all city ordinances. City Attorney L. Phillip Canova Jr. said there would be no changes in city laws, but they would be reorganized in the city code book.
The city first codified its ordinances in 1967, then reorganized them in 1983, he said, noting they've bee amended many times since then.
“We're not changing anything, but bringing everything current,” Canova said. “After so many years, all the amendments get confusing.”
