READER PIX: OVERVIEW OF HIGH WATER

Staff Writer
Plaquemine Post South
This view of the Plaquemine Lock State Historic Site provides a great view of the near-record high waters along the Mississippi River.

Iberville Parish Councilman Ed Reeves took these photos of the high water in the Mississippi River in recent days from the bell tower at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church that overlooks the Plaquemine Lock and the Cub Scout Race ramp on the levee.

Ed has other photos of the city from the tower and we will publish them in the near future.

If you have a picture you want published in Plaquemine Post South, send them to news@postsouth.com, or bring them to our office at 58045 Belleview Road between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For more information, call (225) 687-3288.

Barely behind the levee ramp used for the annual Cub Scout Soap Box Derby, water creeps higher amid the record crests along the Mississippi River.
