Graduation day moved up a week

Iberville's 2012 graduates will have their commencement exercises a week earlier than expected, the School Board decided Monday night.

For this year, graduation will be held on May 18, the second friday after the first Monday of May.

It was to be, as usual, on the third Friday after the first Monday of May, but that put it too close to the May 28 close of school, Superintendent P. Edward Cancienne Jr. said.
