Cetane Renewable Energy Partners, a leading renewable diesel technology company, announced Monday that it is developing a state of the art 12-million-gallon a year renewable diesel facility in St. Gabriel.

WB Services of Kansas, the project developer and EPC contractor, said construction would begin in the third quarter of this year, and full operations converting organic oils and greases into high-grade renewal diesel and other products would begin in the first quarter of 2012.

The project is expected to employ 60-80 workers during construction and to create 20-25 full time jobs once fully operational.

“This is another win for Iberville Parish and the people of St. Gabriel,” said  Hank Grace, Executive Director of the Iberville Chamber. “Good paying jobs and a great company with a dedicated management team sold us on this project. Cetane Renewable Energy Partners is a company committed to hiring locally and buying locally”.

Grace said Iberville Parish and the City of St. Gabriel have been working with Cetane Renewable Energy Partners for several weeks in an effort to bring this new and emerging company and its technology to St. Gabriel.

The site selected in St. Gabriel is a perfect fit for the company, Grace said.

According to company representatives, the facility will convert organic oils and greases into high-grade renewable diesel and other products using patented conversion technology.

Renewable diesel differs from other traditional biodiesel.  The patented process creates a product that has attributes that are compatible with petroleum-based diesel products including superior cold flow and cetane properties, allowing year round use in northern climates also.

Unlike other biofuels, renewable diesel will have no blending limitations as it gains access to the domestic diesel distribution system.
