Punt, Pass and Kick set for Aug. 6
The National Football League’s local Punt, Pass, and Kick contest will be held in Plaquemine Saturday, August 6, at COPAC Stadium field from 9 a.m. to noon.
This year’s local contest is sponsored by “We Are The Difference” organization of Plaquemine: www.wearethedifference.org
The contest has been a national skills competition for boys and girls for a number of years. The age groups that compete are from 6-years old to 15-years old.
The national contest was organized by the NFL in 1961, making it the oldest youth football program in the country. That makes this year’s competition the 50th anniversary.
Five different age groups compete for a chance to advance all the way to final recognition (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-150.
