Butler convicted in St. Gabriel pharmacy burglary

District Judge James J. Best last week found Tyrone Butler, 29, of St. Gabriel guilty in the burglary of Elliott's Pharmacy in St. Gabriel in August 2008, according to District Attorney Richard J. “Ricky” Ward Jr.

Butler, listed at 610 Bayou Paul Lane, St. Gabriel, waived a trial by jury and had the judge hear the case, Ward said.

Martin R. Maley Sr. prosecuted the case for Ward's office. Butler was represented by George Grace Jr.

Butler is due back in court September 21, when a sentencing date before District Judge William C. Dupont will be scheduled.
