South Louisiana under heat advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory today for south Louisiana.

Highs are expected to reach the upper 90s or possibly exceed 100 degrees, with a heat index as high as 110.

Temperatures are expected to be even hotter Wednesday, with temperatures near 100 and a heat index of around 113.
