WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY WEATHER: Sweaters, gumbo and an extra blanket

Stir up the gumbo, put a log on the fire and add another blanket to the bed.

A cold night is in store for Iberville Parish, with possibly the first drop into the 30s of the 2011 autumn season.

Lows are expected to dip down to the lower 40s, and possibly the upper 30s on the northern end of the parish.

Winds will remain brisk, blowing from the North at 10-15 mph.

Daytime highs Thursday will reach the mid to upper 60s.

Skies will be clear, with no rain in the forecast.

In the extended forecast, game time temperatures for the St. John-East Iberville game at Plaquemine High's Andrew Canova Stadium will be in the lower 60s at kickoff and dip into the upper 40s by game's end.

Temperatures will be slightly warmer Friday, with highs nearing 72. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s for kicoff of West St. John at White Castle (Rocky Ourso Stadium) and Plaquemine hosting St. Michael at Andrew Canova Stadium.

For Saturday morning when you head out to the voting polls, you'll wake up to temperatures in the mid to upper 40s with northerly winds of 5 mph. The weather is expected to be perfectly clear for the 2:30 p.m. kickoff of LSU vs. Auburn at Tiger Stadium.

Highs Saturday will reach the mid 70s around kickoff, and will dip to the 60s by sundown. Lows Saturday night will dip into the upper 40s.

Temperatures will return to the 80s by Monday.
