FRIDAY'S WEATHER ... Clearing and slightly cooler

For your Christmas shopping and other holiday festivities this weekend, weather should be mild and pleasant once clouds move out Friday.

A 50 percent chance rain is in the forecast for today and 30 percent tonight. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s, while the low tonight will only drop to 60.

Friday's forecast calls for a 60 percent rain probability, with highs near 70.

Slightly cooler temperatures are expected when skies clear Saturdya for the Holly Jolly Christmas Festival from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.  at the City of Plaquemine Activity Center (COPAC). Highs will reach the mid 60s, with lows in the mid 40s.

A carbon copy of those conditions is anticipated for Sunday, with mostly sunny skies. Lows will dip into the lower 50s.

The start of Christmas week will bring mild temperatures and cloudy skies. Highs will be in the lower 70s and lows in the mid 50s.
