A freeze is in the forecast for the second night of 2012, and cold weather will continue for much of the week.
Colder temperatures will prevail the first full week of 2012. Daytime highs Monday will reach the mid 50s, with an overnight low around 30.
Highs will only reach the lower 50s on Tuesday, and could plunge below 30 Tuesday night.
A slight warming trend starts around mid-week, with highs in the upper 50s on Wednesday and lows in the 40s.
The mercury will inch above 60 on Thursday, with lows in the 40s.
No rain is expected during the week.
Some showers could be in the forecast for the end of next week. Highs will be in the lower 60s and lows in the mid to upper 40s.
