Deputies investigating Club Secret shooting

Iberville Sheriff's deputies responding to a shots-fired call to a West Street bar early Sunday learned a victim, shot multiple times in the torso and head, had been taken to a Baton Rouge hospital, Chief of Detectives Blair Favaron said.

The victim, Jarreau Johnson, 21, of Plaquemine has been through several surgeries at Baton Rouge General Mid-City and is expected to recover, Favaron said Tuesday.

The Sheriff's Office got the call to the parking lot of Club Secret at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, the chief of detectives said.

The investigation so far has turned up the name of a suspect, but there is nothing definitive, Favaron said.

“People scattered when the shots were fired and left the area,” he said, adding that no witnesses had been located.

Favaron asked that anyone with information on the incident to call the Sheriff's Office at 687-5100.
