MAKING IT OFFICIAL ... Collins signs with Alabama

Landon Collins, the highly decorated running back from Dutchtown High School, kept his word Wednesday when he signed a letter of intent with defending BCS National Champion Alabama as part of the National Signing Day festivities.

Other signees Wednesday included East Ascension running back Jarmarcus Jarvis, who signed with North Texas. Also signing football scholarships at Dutchtown were linebacker Lucas Shipman (University of Louisiana-Lafayette), Lucas Shipman (Delta State) and Alex Osborne (University of Louisiana-Monroe).

In Donaldsonville, top 3A quarterback Devon Breaux signed a letter of intent to play for Tulane University.

Soccer scholarship signees from Dutchtown included Alexis Robichaux (Samford), and Jaynie Stewart (University of Pikeville).

Carey Alexis inked a softball scholarship with LSU-Eunice.
