Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Georgia Gulf Chemicals Co. are presenting a free Health Fair for community at the Carl F. Grant Civic Center in Plaquemine Saturday, March 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event includes a number of free screenings (including Blood Pressure, Glucose, Stroke Risk Assessment, Prostate Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Cholesterol, Vision/Glaucoma, Heart Rhythm Screening and Breast Cancer).

No appointments are necessary except for breast cancer screenings.

"This health fair is a one-stop. Everyone who attends can participate in more than ten free screenings and then have the opportunity to visit with doctors about personal and individual health related questions," said Jamie Clesi, Manager, Community Advocacy, Our Lady of the Lake. "Working with our community partners to provide these crucial health screenings is another way for us to increase access to health care and to help our community be healthier."

"At Georgia Gulf we are in the business of building a better community and that goes further than the safe and environmentally sound manufacturing side of what we do.  We understand healthcare is important and we share a goal with Our Lady of the Lake to build a healthier community and so we are pleased to partner with the hospital to offer more than $1200 of free health screenings," said Charlie Freeburgh, Vice President/Environmental, Health & Safety, Georgia Gulf, Plaquemine plant location.

Our Lady of the Lake currently has an Internal Medicine Clinic in Plaquemine staffed by Dr. Gerard Falgoust and Dr. Michael Green (Associates in Internal Medicine of Plaquemine).
