Judge: Grace to remain in prison until sentencing

A federal court judge ruled Tuesday that former St. Gabriel Mayor George L. Grace Sr. must remain in jail until his July sentencing date.

Grace -- who was convicted on racketeering, bribery and fraud, among other charges -- is a risk to feel the country,  U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr. ruled.

Grace has traveled extensively to Africa, which makes him a risk because of his business and political ties, Hicks ruled.

Grace served as St. Gabriel Mayor from 1994 until 2011.
