Rotary Club honors ten Municipal Persons of the Year last week

Ten Municipal Persons of the Year were honored last week by the Rotary Club in annual ceremonies held at The Island Country Club.

The honorees were selected by supervisors in each aspect of City of Plaquemine supportive organizations.

Here are brief notes on each Person of the Year:

SGT. CLEMENTH DORSEY is a veteran of the Plaquemine Police Department and a person who can be counted upon per Chief Detective Kenny Payne.

DALE RABER is a key supervisor for the Plaquemine Fire Department with many years of experience and service to the community.

TIM RODDY: Along he is a fulltime employee in local chemical industry; Roddy is a dedicated volunteer fireman with the city’s fire department, responding when needed.

SYLVESTER LAVIGNE: has been with the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Department for many years and serves as the Chief Administrative Officer until his retirement at the end of this month.

CYNDY BICKHAM: is highly regarded at St. John Elementary School for her work as a Kindergarten Teacher.

CONNIE SIMON: is a very enthusiastic religion teacher at the St. John Middle School whom School Administrator David Dean calls “my inspiration”.

WILLIAM GREGG: has added tremendous influence, guidance, and creative teaching to the St. John High School Science Department as well as to the lower grades at the parochial school.

JILLAN DOTSON: has been an inspiration to students in the elementary school at Iberville Parish Math, Science, and Arts Academy East in St. Gabriel.

TINA BLANCHARD PATE: A member of the Iberville Parish Math, Science, and Arts Academy West faculty who teaches English and Reading to middle school students at the facility and has drawn praise for her positive influence.

KRISTINE SAVOIE: An outstanding Algebra 1 high school teacher at MSA West according to School Superintendent P. Edward Cancienne.
