Six convictions rendered in district cort

District Attorney Richard J. Ward Jr. reported the following convictions June 18, 2012 in District court before Judge Alvin Batiste:

Kurtis Gabler, 37, of 24 Azalea Dr., Gretna, pled guilty to Possession of Schedule I and was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections.

Tamarcus Chachere, 26, of 129 North Franques, Church Point, pled guilty to Possession of Cocaine and sentencing date was set for August 8, 2012 at 9 a.m.

Carleton G. Hamilton, 40, 2734 Dalton Street, Baton Rouge, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections.

Morris McQuiddy, 46, of 675 Wooddale Blvd., Baton Rouge, pled guilty to Theft valued over $500 but less than $1500.  He was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections.

Joel Quezaire, 57, of 6003 Houmas St., Donaldsonville, pled guilty to Possession of Cocaine and was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections.

Quinton Lawrence, 50, of 58634 W.W. Harleaux, Plaquemine, was found guilty by Judge Trial of Aggravated Battery, Simple Battery and Aggravated Assault.  He was sentenced to six months in Parish Jail for the charges of Simple Battery and Aggravated Assault.  For the charge of Aggravated Battery he was sentenced to two years in the West Baton Rouge Detention Center.
