Keavin Keith, 30, was accused of having sex with three female students at MSA-West in Plaquemine.

A grand jury in Iberville Parish has indicted Keavin Keith, 30, of Plaquemine.  Keith, former MSA-West teacher, was accused of having sex with his former students and he was arraigned for a July 29 trial and faces five counts of felony carnal knowledge and 30 counts of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student.

A confirmed DNA test also proved that Keith had fathered a child of one of his alleged victims. Two other alleged victims are 15 and 16 years old.

"This is the first step," Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi said.  "This case is not over until we take him to prison.  The investigators did a great job with this case and I'm looking forward to a guilty verdict."

Keith admitted to having sex with three female students.  Officials said Keith has no prior arrests. He was a teacher in the parish school system for six years and recently named Teacher of the Year.
