Indya Pierre brings 'A Sister Act' to life

CONTRIBUTED REPORT
Indya Pierre will play the lead role, Deloris Van Cartier, in the upcoming "A Sister Act", sponsored by Plaquemine Bank and produced by Iberville Community Theatre.

Plaquemine Bank is sponsoring Iberville Community Theatre’s production of “A Sister Act”. Indya Pierre stars as Deloris Van Cartier in this hysterically funny musical.

Deloris is on the run from the "bad guys", played by Stephen Schemel, Curtis Wahl, Caleb Allen and Hiram Tabor. She hides out in a church with Mother Superior (Danielle Bayham) who finds no amusement in Deloris’ way of life. Soon Deloris becomes a part of the family of nuns played by Brooke Dauzart, Victoria Hill, Alyssa Regira, Glinder Young, Yvonne Casserly, Peggy Allain, Rosemary Brocksmith and Nancy Marshall. Luckily, the Priest (Stephen Orcino) is an understanding person and she is also protected by Officer Souther (Gary Burns).

There is non-stop action, lots of surprises and toe tapping tunes.

The play also features D.J. and Keaton Dauzart and Jarmel Rogers.

"A Sister Act" will be performed on August 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and on August 14 at 1 p.m. All performances are at Carl F. Grant Civic Center. Tickets are available online at www.wearethedifference.org or at Plaquemine Chiropractic Clinic.
