Isabelle Perkins Rattler was born and raised in Grosse Tete, Louisiana and is celebrating her 101st birthday.  She reached her milestone on August 7, 2016.  Isabelle’s key to such a long life includes taking good care of yourself and the goodness of God.

She credits her long life to God Almighty and expresses her gratefulness to Him because she never thought she would have made it this far without him.

She gave birth to her only daughter, Leona Mae Perkins, in 1931 at the age of 16.  She married Robert Rattler in 1941.  They were married for 57 years at the time of his death.

Isabelle has been an usher, worker, pastor’s aide and deaconess at New Light Baptist Church in Grosse Tete for 82 years.  New Light Baptist Church hosted a fellowship for Isabelle after their Sunday service.

According to her biography, Isabelle is an exceptional cook and is known for her homemade coconut pies and cobblers.

“I love the people of Iberville Parish, they’re so nice,” Isabelle said.

Happy birthday, Isabelle!
