Village of Rosedale holds swearing in ceremony

The Village of Rosedale held their swearing in ceremony on Tuesday, January 10 for the newly elected mayor, aldermen and woman, and Chief of Police.

Riley J. Blanchet was elected the new Mayor of the Village of Rosedale after longtime Mayor “Football” Badeaux retired from the position.  Blanchet won the position over opponent Kevin Gantt 308 votes to 202.

Newly elected alderman Carroll Devillier won the Division A seat after garnering 265 votes to opponent Tricia Major Hurdle’s 241.  Incumbent Alderwoman Dana N. Alexander retained her Division C seat with 272 votes to opponent Madonna Hutchinson’s 214.

Chief of Police Mike Sparks and Incumbent Alderman Tim Doiron ran unopposed.
