IPSB announces Students of the Year

Iberville Parish School Board recently announced recipients of the 2016 Student of the Year awards in each of the Elementary, Middle School and High School divisions. Below are the winners:
Elementary Division:
Caleb Weber, a fifth grader at MSA-West, was named the Student of the Year in the Elementary Division. Caleb scored Advanced in English, Math and Science in his fourth grade LEAP tests. He is in talented art at MSA and has participated in many art competitions and has even won awards for his artwork. He also participates in school plays. He enjoys playing baseball and wants to be a professional baseball player.
Middle School Division:
Kayla Jones, an eighth-grader at the Starship Program, was named Student of the Year in the Middle School Division. Kayla enjoy dancing and crafting, but really loves to read. The Twilight series and books written by Kim Harrington are her favorite. She wants to be an obstetrician gynecologist. She has narrowed her colleges down to Baylor University in Waco, Tx. or Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga.
High School Division:
Emily Hamilton, a senior at MSA-West, was named Student of the Year in the High School Division. She enjoys dancing, playing soccer, singing, playing classical and jazz piano, teaching music, and playing in the school’s orchestra and jazz bands. She also enjoys reading, writing, and taking classes that challenge her. Emily aspires to attend Louisiana State University where she will major in Bioengineering.
