Parish Clerk Amy Patin announces relocation, records still accessible

Iberville Parish Clerk of Court, Amy Matirne Patin, announced this week that the Clerk of Court’s office will be temporarily relocated for approximately 60-90 days beginning February 3, 2017.
The office relocation is due to the closure of the courthouse to conduct repairs to the air-handling system. “During this time I will make sure we provide the same excellence in public service that we have always given to the citizens of Iberville Parish”, Patin said.
During this time of transition, the employees of the Clerk of Court will be working and conducting business from the Gascon-Wintz building located between the Iberville Parish Courthouse and Plaquemine City Court at 58030 Meriam Street.
Due to a recent grant obtained by the Clerk, Amy Patin, the parish conveyance records are now imaged and available online from December of 1979 to the present. Mortgage records are online from 1990 to the present. Indices to marriage licenses and other books such as incorporations, miscellaneous acts and successions are available as well from 1990 to present. Civil suits and successions are imaged and available online from 2008 to the present. These are available at www.ibervilleclerk.com.
To house all older conveyances as well as probates and marriage records that are not imaged, a makeshift room has been constructed within the hallway of the Iberville Parish Courthouse in Plaquemine.
All recent civil suits will be housed at the Iberville Parish Courthouse in a temporary office on the third floor of the building. The records will be accessible during regular business hours and will be protected under lock and key during their stay in the temporary rooms. Many original documents and older civil records will be moved and housed in a climate controlled, fully accessible location off site.
The closure of the Clerk of Court is expected to begin February 3, 2017. Non imaged public records will not be accessible from possibly February 8 through February 23, 2017 due to the closure of the entire Parish Courthouse.
All normal services will be available during this time of relocation. “I am fully aware of the inconvenience that this may cause to the many people who utilize our services daily and for that I offer my apologies,” Patin said. “My staff will work together to provide the public exceptional service and accessibility that they have come to expect and rely on. I appreciate the support of the Iberville Parish Council, President Ourso and the citizens of Iberville.”
During the relocation, the contact information will remain the same with the exception of the physical address for deliveries being changed to 58030 Meriam Street. They can be reached at 225-687-5160 and faxed at 225-687-5260. Mailing address is P.O. box 423 in Plaquemine, Louisiana, 70765.
