Entergy has notified the City of Plaquemine that it will be replacing equipment at a major substation on its electrical system that will cause outages to all Plaquemine City Light and Water electrical customers on Wednesday and Thursday nights. If you receive an electrical bill from Plaquemine City Light & Water, this outage will impact you.

Electrical power will go off at 11 p.m. on Wednesday night, February 1, and will be off approximately 20 minutes.

Electrical power will go off again at 11 p.m. on Thursday night, February 2, and will be off up to 2 hours.

These outages are not being caused by the City of Plaquemine, according to a City of Plaquemine spokesperson, and the city has no control over them. The city gets its electrical power through Entergy's power grid system, and when Entergy must make repairs on its system the city can be affected.

The public is encouraged to make plans accordingly for the anticipated outages.
