St. John School announces Community Award winners

Neighbors Way Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award Recipients shown with Principal Cherie Schlatre

Following Mass held February 8at St. John School, St. John School Principal Mrs. Schlatre announced the recipients of this year's Neighbors Way Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award, sponsored by Neighbors Federal Credit Union. 

This award recognizes students and staff who embody the values of respect for others, and fairness and inclusion for all. These awards are voted on by faculty members, and given to a boy and girl in 8th and 12th grade, and a faculty member from the elementary/middle and high schools. 

This year's recipients were: 8th grade-Kathryn Perry and Wade Curry, 12th grade-Sophia Tempanaro and Holden Bezet, elementary/middle school faculty-Kaley Crowson, and high school faculty-Suzan Bezet.

The Catholic Daughters Education Contest winners were also announced. This contest included categories for outstanding essays, poetry, art, and computer-generated art. Mrs. Donna Carville was at Mass representing the Catholic Daugthers, and presented awards to the following students: Abbie Bayham - essay, Rayne Larson - essay, Annie Bates-poetry, Baylie Romero-art, and Payton Carroll-computer art.
