Krewe of Comogo parade rolls through Plaquemine
Thousands filled the streets of Plaquemine Sunday, February 26 to enjoy the Krewe of Comogo parade, the West Side’s only nighttime parade.
The fifth annual parade rolled through town with this year’s Grand Marshal Peggy Grant leading the pack. Twenty of the 26 handmade Krewe of Comogo floats traveled down Hwy. 1 S in Plaquemine, turned on Belleview Dr. and finished at the Carl F. Grant Civic Center.
The parade is held annually to honor the memory of the late Brenda Comeaux. Comeaux was deeply involved with the Krewe of Okeanos and Krewe du Roi. It was her lifelong dream to start a parade krewe in Plaquemine and the Krewe of Comogo was born.
The parade features floats covered in LED lights and lighted throws. Shown are pictures from this year’s Krewe of Comogo parade.
