School Board recognizes Plaquemine High Senior Guest

Jaminie Fernandez of Plaquemine High was recently recognized at the Monday, March 13 School Board Meeting by members and School Board Superintendent Arthur Joffrion.

Jaminie is an outstanding senior at Plaquemine High School who has maintained a 4.0 GPA during her high school career.  She is also a four-year member of the Senior Beta Club and has participated in many volunteer opportunities in her community.

She’s been a varsity cheerleader for three years and hopes to continue to cheer in college. She plans to attend Southeastern University and plans to major in Business Administration.

Jaminie honored with a 2016 Outstanding Junior Scholarship with the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair, represented Plaquemine High at Southern University’s Team Summit, was a 2016 Student of the Year nominee and is currently in the top five percent of her senior class.

“I would like to thank my mom, teachers, counselors and principals without whom I would not have been able to accomplish as much as I did,” Fernandez said before the board.
