According to a Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections report, Jomar Jackson, 29, was arrested last Tuesday, March 7 after he tried to smuggle drugs and cellphones into the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in his lunchbox.

According to the report, officers were performing a routine shakedown of arriving employees Tuesday morning when Jackson about-faced and headed back toward the front gate of the facility.

Officers stopped Jackson and found four packs of marijuana and two cellphones inside two Pringles cans in his lunchbox.  The report says corrections officials fired Jackson, who was then arrested by St. Gabriel Police and charged with felony introduction of contraband.  According to the Department of Corrections, Jackson started as a cadet in October 2016.
