The first of many community meeting hosted by Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi was a huge success. Stassi and his IPSO staff members will host various meeting through Iberville Parish in an effort to discuss topics with the public including community relations, home safety, social media safety and more.
Stassi hopes to encourage and foster open communication between the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office and the community, and to answer residents questions.
The first meeting was held Thursday, March 23 at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Plaquemine. The second meeting will be held March 30 at Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 23030 Talbot Dr. in Plaquemine.
On April 6, Stassi will host another meeting at Bayou Sorrel Baptist Church at 33285 Bayou Sorrel Rd. and the final meeting of April will be held April 13 at St. Joan of Arc Church Gym at 39315 Hwy 75 in Bayou Pigeon. All meetings are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
“Our first meeting was a huge success,” Stassi said. “It is so refreshing to be able to visit with folks in a relaxed setting and talk about issues and concerns that are important to them, nothing is off the table. Our agenda is clear: we want to work with the community to make Iberville Parish even better. I am looking forward to the upcoming meetings.”
