Summer Reading program begins at Iberville Parish Library

The annual Summer Reading Program for kids, tweens and teens is here! Sign up, read, log, review and win awesome prizes! Also, attend some great programs at each of the eight branches throughout the parish. Their theme this year is “Build a Better World”
The Plaquemine Branch will have many great programs for all ages. Each Monday we will have a Monday Matinee at 2:30. The movie for June 26 is Sing (Rated PG). Terrific Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. are for ages 5-8 years old and is an ever changing program with crafts, games or a surprise for kids in grades K-3rd.
YA (Young Adult) Tuesdays begin at 2:30 p.m. and feature crafting, building and fun. This program is geared toward the 12-18 year old. Also, on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. young adults ages 12-18 are invited to join a Coding Club where they can learn how to create apps, games and websites.
Each Wednesday is StoryTime at 10:30 a.m. for ages 0-5 plus parent and caregiver. This is a 30 minute program with a focus on early literacy. On Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. pre-teens are invited to an hour long interactive program geared toward the pre-teen age group.
A very special program comes to Plaquemine branch on June 28 at 10:30 a.m. “Louisiana Roots” with award winning storyteller and musician Johnette Downing. Later in the day, she will visit the Maringouin branch at 2 p.m. She will also visit the Bayou Sorrel branch on June 30 at 10 a.m., the East Iberville Elementary School Gym on Thursday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. and the White Castle branch on June 29 at 2 p.m. *IPSB, DAF The Bayou Pigeon branch will have a “Germ Cave” program sponsored by LSU Ag on June 28 at 1 p.m. and then the program goes to Bayou Sorrel at 3 p.m.
