PHS Marching Band still taking donations for D.C. trip

Plaquemine High “Green Machine” Marching Band is still seeking donations for their trip to march in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C. on July 4. In the group’s biggest endeavor yet, band members will march down Historic Constitution Ave. as representatives of the State of Louisiana in the Independence Day celebration.
The “Green Machine” has been better than ever under the new leadership and direction of Anthony Hollins and have shown great improvement every year.
The group has even been referred to as a miniature version of Southern University’s “Human Jukebox”. With the increase in talent, comes an increase in outings for the “Green Machine” including trips to almost all of the New Orleans Mardi Gras parades, trips to Mississippi and Texas and even taking first place at Krewe of Tucks.
If you are interested in donating to the Plaquemine High Marching Band, contact Plaqeumine High School at 225-687-6367.
