Plaquemine native graduates US Army Sergeants Major Academy

The U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, located in El Paso, Texas graduated more than 550 students on June 23, 2017, including 40-year-old Plaquemine native, Anson Jordan, Sr. Jordan is a 1995 honor graduate of Plaquemine Senior High School and is the son of Reverend and Mrs. John E. Jordan, Sr.
Sergeants Major Academy graduation results in advancement to the rank of Sergeant Major - the Army's highest enlisted grade. It is an accomplishment achieved by only one percent of soldiers.
Jordan will become the Sergeant Major of the 3rd Battalion 58th Aviation Regiment Airfield Operations Battalion in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Sergeants Major Course is a 10-month, intensive course in leadership, Army and joint operations, force management, and Army history.
While attending the Sergeants Major Course, Jordan also exceeded course standards and graduated with honors by placing in the top 20 percent of the course, and completed an Educational Specialist doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
