Iberville Parish Council meeting notes from July 23

The five and six-year-old machine pitch team was recognized by the parish council for earning 2nd place in the District Tournament and 2nd place in the Louisiana State Cal Ripken Tournament.

The Iberville Parish Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting, July 23. Among agenda items discussed was a presentation of awards for youth baseball teams, an audit, and resolutions regarding the Louisiana Industrial Tax Exemption Program.

The five and six year old Machine Pitch Team was recognized for placing second in the District Tournament and 2nd place in the Louisiana State Cal Ripken Tournament. The nine year old boys baseball team placed first in the district tournament.

And finally, the 10 year old boys baseball team took second at the District Tournament and first place in the Louisiana State Cal Ripken Tournament. 

Next on the agenda was the audit presented by Margaret Pritchard with Baxley and Associates. There was a "very healthy increase net income for the year," Pritchard said.

Following the audit, the council voted in favor of the ordinance to amend Article 5, Section B (1) and (2) of Ordinance Number 010-13 pertaining to flood damage and prevention in the unincorporated areas of Iberville Parish.

They also voted in favor of an ordinance to provide for overweight and oversized load transportation permits on parish roadways and the temporary use of the C.M. Zito Center for offloading and storage of overweight or oversized vessels.

Lastly, the council voted in favor of resolutions to approve Ohmstead and SNF-Flopam for participation in the Louisiana Industrial Tax Exemption Program.
