Some 31% of Lafayette Parish County residents are fully vaccinated as of June 8, according to data from the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).
Louisiana reported 473,879 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 0.47% from the week before.
The five parishes with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Louisiana as of June 8 are West Feliciana Parish (61%), Orleans Parish (43%), Jefferson Parish (40%), St. Tammany Parish (36%) and Pointe Coupee Parish (35%).
