Officials from a number of agencies were called to the scene of a collision of a train and an 18-wheeler pulling a tank of butane Friday morning around 8 a.m. in White Castle.

No injuries were reported and the tanker did not leak, officials said, although diesel fuel leaded from the 18-wheeler. Lousiana State Police's HazMat unit was called to the scene because of it.

According to the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred near the intersection of La. 69, or Bowie Street, and La. 1 in the heart of White Castle.

The White Castle Police Department handled the investigation but have not released any information as of Monday morning.

La. 69 was closed to through traffic for nearly 12 hours while first responders and others cleared the scene. The highway was finally reopened at about 7 p.m.
