Maringouin–Shortly after 2:00 pm on October 30, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on La. 77 north of La. 76 in Iberville Parish.

The crash took the life of 33-year-old Aubrey Stewart Jr. of Walker.

The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Stewart was traveling northbound on La. 77 on a 2013 Suzuki motorcycle.

At the same time, 59-year-old Joseph Trosclair of Maringouin was traveling southbound on LA 77 in a 2013 Ford Mustang.

For reasons still under investigation, Stewart failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of his motorcycle. Stewart’s motorcycle slid across the center line and struck Trosclair’s vehicle.

Stewart sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff. Trosclair was properly restrained and was not injured.

Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, but a toxicology sample was taken from both drivers for analysis.
