Pasqua selected Post South editor
Peter Silas Pasqua, formerly with The Daily News in Bogalusa, has been selected the new editor of the Post South.
Pasqua, 32, is an editor, writer and photographer specializing in local/community news and sports coverage.
The Gonzales native graduated from LSU's Manship School of Mass Communications in May of 2003 with a concentration in print journalism.
He began his career as the editor of The Donaldsonville Chief from 2005-08, where he covered government, education, economic development and professional, college and high school sports.
From 2008-10, he served as sports editor of The Gonzales Weekly Citizen and remained in that capacity for the past three years at The Daily News.
He is now excited to make the move to a new community closer to his hometown with a new group of readers.
Glenn Stifflemire, Louisiana Group Publisher for Gatehouse Media, stated, "the Post South gets a young man that is passionate about the newspaper business, and especially excited to be back in the area, covering and writing about the happenings in Iberville Parish. We're pleased that Peter sought this position when we had the opening, and look forward to him getting settled and becoming involved to continue the tradition of producing an award winning newspaper for the people in Plaquemine and Iberville Parish."
"I am looking forward to getting out in the community and experiencing a new atmosphere," Pasqua added. "I may be relatively new to the area but I have roots in Iberville Parish, the birthplace of two of my grandparents, and experience covering many of the local teams from my time spent in Donaldsonville and Gonzales. I have found the people here to be very nice and hospitable and most importantly, they have an amazing passion about their history, as I do."
