Cecile Lopez Acosta

Cecile Lopez Acosta passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, at Plaquemine Manor Nursing Home. She was 85 years old.

Acosta hailed from Brusly McCall and lived in Plaquemine.

Rite of Christian Burial, conducted by Deacon Alfred Ricard, was held Monday at 11 a.m. with interment in Grace Memorial Park.

She is survived by a son and two daughters-in-law (T-Paul and Pattie Acosta, and Anne Ockmand Acosta), a sister (Mary Lee Lewis), two brothers (Albert Lopez Jr. and Gus Lopez Sr., one sister-in-law (Florence Lopez), one brother-in-law (Matthew Baker), six grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Acosta was preceded in death by husband Joseph D. Acosta Sr.; parents Albert and Leontine Boudreaux Lopez; son Joseph D. Acosta Jr.; and numerous sisters and brothers.
